«P rima di avventurarci nell'analisi delle varie componenti che emergono in Bram Stoker's Dracula è forse opportuno mettere a fuoco un dettaglio di particolare importanza: ci si trova, volenti o nolenti, al cospetto di un film d'autore. Non si tratta naturalmente di un giudizio legato a motivazioni soggettive e di gusto personale, ma di una semplice constatazione. An art film, in fact, where the visionary director par excellence lascia libero sfogo alla propria creatività con risultati altalenanti ma sempre incredibilmente originali e affascinanti.
